PLM

A difficult book but a valuable piece of resource. I think I don't have sufficient grounding in business to fully grasp the concept. But this is something that I should revisit someday.

No. 1

1 SERIES

Out of Gas

Lots of physics theories like thermodynamics etc, which was really tough for me to grasp initially cos I had forgotten all my secondary school stuff. I vaguely remember having learnt the stuff but I guess age and the lack of interest have relegated it to the rubbish dump.

Value chain marketing

All this stuff about how to manage businesses is really getting me excited.

Caliper

Grateful to Alan for introducing the Caliper profile to me and lucky me managed to find this book written by the founders and managers of the Caliper Corporation. Makes me want to take the test myself but Alan is not charging me friendly prices - S$600 is a wee bit too much.

Caliper ranks as one of the top few organisations that I want to find myself working for within the next five years, alongside Korn/Ferry and other top international hunters. We'll see how it goes.

And am going to fork out money to buy this book.

Hilarious

This is so so so good and I love Jeff. I hope the DVDs covered all the 4 seasons..

Energy

Mmm..such a juicy topic. This pretty much covers all the alternatives to oil that are currently being explored and debated. Good reading for info's sake, but his writing is too informal for my liking. Then again, perhaps he is trying to write in a "journalistic" way to appeal to the masses (possibly so as to sell more books) and making the topic more accessible to the man on the street.

Climate change

Not very well-written; the essays seem to end rather abruptly. But well, there are some books that we read purely for info's sake. The short essay-format makes it an easy read too. Need to hunt down the more "serious stuff" on this issue.

Iron Book

Pretty decent collection, although I wish they had left out the "oldies" and included more contemporary writers. I mean, R H Blyth has already been quoted to death.
